For me personally, I uphold humility above any other virtue. Jesus himself exemplified that value.
“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.” – Matthew 20:16
As we go through life, someone will always be superior than us, will be smarter, will be richer, will look better. That’s just the way of the world. I think its imperative that to go through such an uneven plain of existence, self-acceptance is a necessity. It is important for one to feel good about himself/herself. It’s significant to be proud of one’s own small victories,
But as the old adage says, “too much of anything is bad’. So too, self-worth. So too, self-admiration. So too, self importance. So too, conceit.
I think there are ways when we can uplift ourselves without compromising meekness, without belittling the guy to our next. Be proud of yourself and your capabilities, and so of everyone else’s.
